In Windows, I’m used to the file manager saving the way I’ve last viewed a folder, unfortunately Ubuntu doesn’t do that by default. Luckily, I’ve found out that there is a quick and simple way to change the default behavior and view of the Ubuntu file manager (called ‘Files’ as official name).
- In Ubuntu, open the file manager, ‘Files’
- On the menu bar, go to Edit->Preferences
- In the ‘Files Preferences’ window that pops up, the Views tab allows for changing the default view type and zoom level.
